Mahsa also known as Jina was arrested by the religious morality police for not wearing the hijab in accordance with the regime standards. Mahsa died on September 16th, 2022 in Tehran while still in police custody. According to eyewitnesses, she was severely beaten by the morality police. But the regime announced pre-existing conditions as the cause of her death, while her family insisted she was very healthy with no pre-existing conditions.
Mahsa's death has sparked a new revolutionary movement in Iran.
