Nika Shakarami, 16, was seen standing on a dumpster and burning her headscarf in Tehran on September 20th, as others chant slogans against the Islamic Republic.
Later that day, she disappeared after telling a friend she was being chased by police. Her family was informed of her death ten days later.
Nika's mother said security forces have murdered her daughter, but officials once said she died after being thrown from a building that was under construction, possibly by workmen. Another time they said she committed suicide.
Her mother also stated that her brother's and her sister’s interview with Iranian state TV was a forced confession . She also mentioned that the girl in the video released by the Iranian state media isn't Nika.
